Inspired by the book by Peter S. Beagle. These mitts are worked in the round in stranded colorwork. Smartly placed stitches are utilized on the hand-top motif to prevent long floats and give an ethereal, lunar feel to the mitts.

Fingering Weight Yarn in 2 Colors:
Color A: 100 yards / 92 meters
Color B: 70 yards / 64 meters
We used Cape May Fiber MCN Sock
(~370 to 438 yards / 100 gram, 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon).
Colors:
Color A: Leviathan (oceanic blues with dark speckled)
Color B: Salt Water Taffy (pastel seafoams and soft pinks)
Needles
- US Size 0 (2 mm) and 1 (2.25 mm) 24” / 60 cm to work in Magic Loop technique or, if you prefer, use double-pointed needles

Gauge
32 sts, 38 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in stranded colorwork knit in the round and blocked. To save time, take the time to check gauge.
