A spiraling wrap stitch hat for the family in sizes Newborn to Adult Large. The twisted rib makes a cushy, fitted brim while the slip stitch creates an ultra-textured exterior.

Designer Note about sizing…This hat is intended to be worn with 1-2” of negative ease. If a looser hat is desired, try sizing up. When in doubt about which size to make, make the size you think you should and add perhaps an inch to the length. The recipient can always fold the brim up, watch cap style.
Keep in mind the sizes are a general guide, since heads can vary so much!

50, (75, 90, 110, 140, 160, 200) yards each of sock or fingering weight yarn held together with lace weight brushed yarn.
(all yardages have a 10% buffer added on)
We used Cape May Fiber Co Brushed Alpaca Silk (74% Baby Suri Alpaca, 26% Mulberry Silk, 328 yards / 50G Skein)
held together with Cape May Fiber Co Sock (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 463 yards / 100 Gram skein)
Colorways used:
Bay Scallop in the Brushed Alpaca Silk (grey with speckles of yellow, red, black)
and Jersey Peach in the Sock yarn (peachy pink)
US Size 4 (3.5mm) and 6 (4mm) double pointed needles (set of 5) or use a 40” length or longer circular for magic loop method. (see below for explanation on magic loop) or size needed to obtain gauge

18 sts, 28 rounds =4” in st st or Whorl Stitch worked in the round on larger needle after blocking.
